From 20 to 22 November 2026, the Reference Institute for Bioanalytics (RfB) is offering the course Classical Microscopy in Hematology (Morphology) at the Gustav-Stresemann-Institut in Bonn. Over 2½ days, participants learn a standardized method for the reliable identification of cell types — above all in the peripheral blood smear — as the basis for a sound diagnosis. The course is supported by Würmtal-Labor (WTL) and the Munich Leukemia Laboratory (MLL).
Course format on site
- Course materials & specimens with new case examples for each course
- Case histories & blood values are included in the materials
- Microscopy at an individual microscope (provided)
- Discussion of results with the expert via video microscope on a large screen
Included in the fee and yours to keep
- 20 specimens for microscopy
- 1 accompanying handbook with case details, photos, comprehensive explanations, and tips & tricks
Certification points will be applied for on behalf of participants.

- Saturday, 21 Nov 2026: 09:00 – 17:00, followed by a social event
- Sunday, 22 Nov 2026: 09:00 – 12:00
On Saturday, 21 November, the RfB invites participants to a complimentary social event after the course (“Discover Bonn”). Further information will follow after registration.
