Dear participants,
We are pleased to inform you that the RfB is expanding its offer for external quality assurance in laboratory medicine. Following a successful pilot EQA scheme (BSImplex 1/25), we will in future be offering you the EQA scheme for the detection of bloodstream infections (BSImplex) twice a year.
In 2025, we are organising the next regular BSImplex round robin (BSImplex 2/25) in November. Below you will find the most important information and dates:
Interlaboratory test for the detection of bloodstream infections (BSImplex 2/25)
- Registration deadline: 22/09/2025
- Trial period: 10 November 2025 – 22 November 2025
- Dispatch: 04.11.2025
In this EQA scheme, two samples with 650 µl inoculated blood culture medium each are provided. The material was inactivated, which means that cultural detection is no longer possible. The aim is correct pathogen detection using molecular biological test panels/multiplex PCR. Both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as yeasts, as they occur in bloodstream infections, can be included.
The detection of antibiotic resistance genes is also possible as an option.
The cost of a proficiency test is €200 plus VAT (plus freight costs, taxes and customs duties). For each additional pair of samples required, the cost is € 180 plus VAT (plus freight costs, taxes and customs duties).
You can register via your participant account at www.rfb.bio. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to your participation.
With kind regards
Your RfB Team
