We are pleased to inform you that the RfB is expanding its range of services for external
quality assurance in laboratory medicine. Following a successful
successfully completed pilot EQA scheme (CarbaDet 1/25), we will in future be offering you the twice-yearly
the proficiency test Carbapenemase Detection (CarbaDet) twice a year.
In 2025, we are organising the next regular CarbaDet ring trial in November
(CarbaDet 2/25). Below you will find the most important information and dates:
Interlaboratory test for the detection of carbapenemases (CarbaDet 2/25)
- Registration deadline: 22/09/2025
- Trial period: 10 November 2025 – 22 November 2025
- Dispatch: 04.11.2025
Two 4MRGN strains will be provided using eSwab as part of the EQA scheme. The aim is
identification of the respective carbapenemases using molecular genetic or immunological
immunological test methods. The following carbapenemases can be detected:
NDM, VIM, KPC, OXA-48/-like, OXA-23, OXA-24/40, OXA-58, OXA-18, IMP, GES, GIM and IMI.
You can also carry out pathogen detection (optional)
The cost of a proficiency test is € 180 plus VAT (plus freight costs and customs duties).
