DGKL – RfB – SPMD: Three pillars of laboratory quality

The network of laboratory sciences in Germany

The German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (DGKL), the Reference Institute for Bioanalytics (RfB) and the Foundation for Pathobiochemistry and Molecular Diagnostics (SPMD) together form a strong scientific network for the promotion of quality, research and standardisation in laboratory medicine.

Three partners, one common task

InstitutionTaskContribution to laboratory quality
DGKLScientific societyPromotion of research, further education and specialist groups
RfBReference institute and EQA-Scheme providerEnsuring analytical accuracy and international comparability
SPMDFoundation of the DGKLPromotion of research and young talent in pathobiochemistry and molecular diagnostics

This close collaboration ensures that clinical laboratory analyses are carried out at a high scientific and methodological level.

Aim of the cooperation

Together, the DGKL, RfB and SPMD ensure that laboratory results are precise, traceable and interoperable – the basis for reliable diagnoses in modern medicine.
